My Ten Rules for Active Trading!

I describe the chart that accompanies this show.

Leo Laporte of This Week in Tech (TWiT.tv) didn’t like Microsoft’s (MSFT) buyback plan. He’s wrong.

Apple (AAPL) is in a tug of war between buyers and sellers.

Microvision (MVIS) was once a bright hope.

My take on Step 3 of the 12 Step Program for Active Investors: A Babbling of Fools

Our Tool in the Crib helps you see if your actively managed mutual fund is actually an index fund in disguise.

The luxury of podcasting is that we can change direction.

I’m on a journey and I invite you to come along with me, exploring the efficient frontier.

Next show: Step 4, the MMM Special touch on the 12 steps. But, I might not release it next week. Would that be a crime? How about if I just did a very Raw, unproduced show? Well, no assignment for book giveaways this week, other than go buy it.

I have been listening to your program recently at work. I believe that part of the reason you have far less viewers than Mad Money is because if you subscribe to Jim Cramer’s theory of the market you need to tune in weekly to get his latest hot picks, whereas with your view of the market you need to tune in just long enough to understand how to diversify and then you are basically set. If you accept the efficient market theory, there is still plenty of room to discuss various blends of assets. You could discuss indexing markets other than the NYSE, purchasing Muni, State, or Corporate bonds, or even investing in non-traded business enterprises themselves. While indexing may have the best expected return in the stock market, there are so many other ways to invest assets, I hope you talk about some of those too.

the music and your presentation helps keep the show flowing and interesting…I tried listening to Fabian and he put me to sleep, not a good thing since i listen while driving home.

    Hi Paul,
Great show as usual but I like the fast music better. This show was so peaceful I almost fell asleep – and I was driving on the freeway at the time… You could have killed me!
I have an idea for you.How about not watching Mad Money for a week and tune in to Cramer’s podcasts for a change. They are much more instructional and you might actually respect him again. Friday’s podcast (8/18) was very educational.
    Keep up the good work!

Looks like a smackdown between griz and yomomma2000 for which music gets played!

Good idea re: listening to radio shows vs. TV shows.
    Real Money Machine anyone?

phoenixstar: good ideas all. I’ll have to do some reading. Got any sources of info for those?
